This workshop will be led by Richard Jones, Partner at Ventura Team LLP - www.venturateam.com Richard has managed projects across many industries, in several countries, and in situations ranging from start-ups through to turnarounds of up to £200 million investment in major companies. Along the way, he noted that there are fundamentals of project management that are common to all projects, large or small, and that these fundamentals were not well covered in existing courses and books This realisation led to his developing five-day courses which have been delivered in in the UK, Europe, Japan and the US. More recently, his insights have been distilled into a new book Real World Project Management to be published soon. This workshop is based on some of the lessons from the book and you will receive a pre-publication copy. Who will benefit? The workshop is intended for quality professionals who are responsible for initiating projects (particularly those that involve people who don't report to them) needed to move their organisations forward on the road to excellence. Examples of such projects range from the major (adoption or improvement of management systems conforming to ISO standards, employment of approaches such as the EFQM excellence model, etc.) through to the smaller but critical projects such as the development and implementation of new procedures, tools and practices and the education of colleagues, What you will learn This workshop will help you to focus on what is important in a project and to go beyond the status reports and understand what is really happening! You will learn why projects go wrong - and how to avoid this happening. The content of the workshop will be pragmatic, practical, actionable and effective.
